Danville Sheriff - 2022 - new condition - The patch was created in 2019 by Captain Steve Martin after a community wide submission process and subsequent contest. The winning design was chosen by a committee picked by the sheriff. The patch contains the US and Virginia flag. The lower portion features the Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge which spans over the Dan River, the HOME sign which stood atop the White Mill of Dan River Mills for decades, the Dan River, the courthouse AKA the James F. Ingham Justice Center, a smokestack and seedtower symbolizing Danville's textile history. The Thin Blue Line representing LE's responsibility to protect the public form from chaos spans the length of the MLK Bridge.
