Utah Co. Sheriff - SWAT - new condition - The Utah County Sheriff's SWAT team was established in the late 1970s with 4 members. In 1998, the team expanded to a 40-member Metro SWAT team. Currently, approximately ten different agencies participate in the Utah County Metro SWAT program. The concept of the SWAT team is to provide an organized, structured response to critical, high-risk situations that exceed the capabilities of other departmental units.
