Mohave Co. Sheriff Posse - Volunteer - new condition - The Sheriff's Volunteer Posse operates in supporting the sheriff's office by conducting duties that allow sworn officers to concentrate on their primary mission of crime prevention and enforcement of state and county laws. Volunteers undergo training in a 32-hour academy where topics including orientation and organization, crime prevention, introduction to law, driver awareness, patrol procedures, traffic control, radio communications and basic report writing. Volunteers also complete a ride-along with a sworn deputy and field training with an experienced posse member.

Mohave Co. Sheriff - Explorer - In 2002, the Explorer program was reintroduced, having been ended about 10 years ago. The sheriff's office is recruiting local youths to be a part of their program in an effort to provide valuable experience in the field of law enforcement.
